Which of your courses is best for me or my employees?

That depends on what class of laser is in use, what the application is, and what your role is.  If your lasers are Class 3b or 4, you must have an on-site Laser Safety Officer (LSO).  But it’s a good idea to have one on site no matter what kind of laser is being used and your state may require it anyway.  If you use a laser etcher, cutter or in fabrication, you should take our Industrial LSO course.  If you work in the medical field, you should take the Healthcare or Cosmetic Laser Safety course as they are the most applicable to your field.  If you want to provide your employees with basic laser safety information, sign them up for the Industrial Laser Safety course.  If you want to have an LSO who then needs to train an unlimited number of employees in basic laser safety, order the LSO bundle which helps your LSO administer your own in-house laser safety program.

How much does the training cost?

We offer a variety of laser safety certification courses, but our prices are definitely affordable for small business who are cost-minded, and for large organizations who have many employees to certify.

Our least expensive online course is $69, and our most expensive physical product is $499.

Is your Healthcare LSO certification the same as a Certified Medical Laser Safety Officer (CMLSO) certification?

Yes it is, our Healthcare Laser Safety and Cosmetic Laser Safety curriculums are based on ANSI Z136.1 & Z136.3, so they are  comprehensive to both CLSO & CMSLO topics.

Do you mail me a certificate or do I get it online?

Your certificate in PFF form will be emailed to you upon successful completion of our courses.

Do you provide training at my location or offsite?

Our certification courses are 100% online, meaning that you can get same-day-certification.  However, if you prefer in person training, we offer the Laser Safety Kit, which allows one person in your organization to do the training in-house using paper copies of training materials and a USB flash drive, shipped to your facility in 2-3 business days.  These are all the resources needed to perform Laser Safety Technician Training and administer your own laser safety program.   It’s a great all-in-one solution for ANSI & OSHA Compliance.

I see you have LSO training and Technician Training. Do you recommend multiple people take the LSO training?

Our most comprehensive course is the LSO Certification, but the Laser Safety Technician course should be given to all employees who operate around lasers at a minimum.  You may want to have multiple LSOs (main LSO & deputy LSO) certified to provide 24/7 or multiple site coverage.  We have additional resources on the importance of the Laser Safety Officer.

What happens if I fail the final exam?  Do I have to retake the course?

The online course can be paused and restarted.  It is designed in a guided-learning style, and is impossible to fail.

Can I go back and review the course material after I receive my certificate?

Will the program help us to know how to design the laser control area, and what PPE to purchase?

Proper PPE usage guidelines are part of the courses.   Please reach out and we can help you select the right PPE for your laser.

Do you guys sell products like the stickers and PPE?

At this time, we do not offer and PPE or label products.

Do you need to take the LSO exam to get the LSO certification or is that included with the course?

Once you have completed the LSO curriculum and quizzes and pass the final exam your certificate is emailed to you.

If you take the Laser Safety Technician Certification, do you get a certification without needing an exam?

All of our online courses provide a certificate upon successful completion of the curriculum, quizzes and final exam.

How long does it take to complete the course and get a certificate?

All of our online courses can be completed in a few hours.  The video versions of the courses are a bit more time-efficient.

How long does laser certification last?

Laser Safety Certification (LSC) offers comprehensive certification programs for Certified Laser Safety Officers (CLSOs) and Certified Medical Laser Safety Officers (CMLSOs). Our certifications are valid for three calendar years from the date of issuance. To maintain certification, CLSOs and CMLSOs must engage in Certification Maintenance (CM) activities related to laser safety and laser applications throughout the three-year certification cycle. These activities ensure that certified professionals stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, best practices, and advancements in laser technology. Remember, the certifications are valid for three years, so it’s important to plan your CM activities accordingly.

What comes in the LSO Kit?

When you sign up a student and order the Laser Safety Kit as a “bundle” (which is a savings of $99!) the student will take the online LSO course and the Kit will be shipped within 2-3 business days.  The kit contains all the materials needed to train an unlimited number of employees in laser safety.

Does the certificate apply to countries outside of the US?

Our course is based on OSHA guidelines and is not applicable outside the US.

What do I do after I sign up?

It’s super easy to get started!

• Enroll your company.
• Add students and assign courses/products.
• Students are sent an email with linkage to take the course with their user ID and password.
• Students log in and take the course.
• Students receive certificates after successful completion.

Once I register my company, can I go back later and add more students?

Yes!  You can reuse your employer ID and add more students any time!
